Many times, these so-called hired guns can be found in many web site forums, they can be had for relatively cheap. This is, however, a large gamble, you never know what you are getting when you rent out help. Not to mention you really do not know if this gun is going to cause more damage in the process. One can say they are great, yet if you do not know them, and have never seen their work why in the world would you trust them with your business. It is always good to gave a web master on hand when you need one, finding a trustworthy partner is the key to a successful endeavor. Sometimes this may cost a little more, yet you will have the peace of mind in knowing that things are done right. This will be an asset to your company, and should not be taken lightly. Sometimes there is really good 24/7 supports, for ones ISP or web server. This is another option rather than going the UN secure hired gun route.
This is a business you have invested time and money into, why would you even chance this with a rookie wanting to get his feet wet? This would be great for them, an in the process could completely ruin your business. This is the very reason why ISP or web servers strongly advocate you use of a good web master. It may be in better interest for you to take some classes, or practice making web pages for yourself. This could save time in you searching for a rent a gun, or waiting for your trusted partner to wake or get home. This either way leaves you are the business in peril. It is best, when you get into this business to learn as much as you possibly can. This in turn saves time and much trouble. There are online classes for this sort of thing, or there are many community colleges that offer this set of classes. If your partner is willing to relinquish the tools of his trade, then they may at least help you get buy in a pinch.
It is understandable however, if they are reluctant as this will definitely eat into their profits as well. The solution is simple, what you need to do is to set up a chain of support for your company. This is a sure fire way to ensure that things run smoothly. It would be in the best interest of the company, to have a back up plan or at least a chain of repair mechanisms.
